Cardiff City Breaks

A wonderful shopping experience, and just 15 minutes away - traffic permitting, with something to suite all, from, small independent traders to the large high street names, St Davids Centres and many arcades to explore. Allow more than one day to see all.

Cardiff Bay & Wetlands

Cardiff Bay Wetlands falls between Ty Melville and the City Centre so close enough to have both experiences in one. Don't forget to visit the information Centre and the Italian Chapel. Cardiff Bay is a day out in itself.

Markets

The most famous being the undercover tiered Market in the centre of town. A wonderful array of stalls both up and down, from Butchers to Drapers, Fish mongers to Snack bars. A must on the explore list for the experience and value.

Castles

From Cardiff Castle in the centre of town to Castell Coch, the fairy Castle just up the Road, and Caerphilly Castle a little further on and many more depending on how far you are prepared to travel.

Gardens

Roath Park, with it large lake and memorial to Scott of the Antarctic, and beautiful flower gardens, boat rides, cafe and restaurant , a good day out, to name just one, there are many, many, gardens in and around Cardiff to visit and all different. Nature Reserve and Trails

The closest reserve being Hendre Lake, Just a 10 minute walk from Ty Melville. The Wenallt is a lovely place with woods and a River Walk, Coed Y Felin, or the Taff Trail to name a few.

Beaches

The closest beach is approximately 30 minutes drive away. Penarth being the most local and The Gower being very popular.

Brecon Beacons National Park

This wonderful area starts less than an hour away by car, through some wonderfully scenic areas and places of interest, depending which route you take, Caerphilly, Monmouth or the Wye Valley, somewhere to drink in the beautiful scenery the peace and tranquillity, the lakes, the rivers, the waterfalls, the mountains, potholing, walking and trekking, horse riding the options are endless.

There are plenty of places to stop for food and drink from Pubs to local cafes/bistros to some excellent Restaurants. A whole new world to explore.
